Who Pays for the FiT?

We all do! The Feed-in-Tariff scheme is enshrined in UK law. It obliges the UK energy suppliers, like e.On, British Gas and npower, to pay genertors for the electricity produced by microgeneration schemes.  The money for these payments comes from a small 'Green Tax' on everyone's energy bills - this creates a central pot of money which the energy companies draw-down from to make the FiT payments.
